Intended to provide cover from the weather and a space to display visitor and local information our proposal takes on a simple, house-shaped building form that strongly signifies the idea of shelter. Polycarbonate shingles are used to make a translucent outer skin, which allows the building to appear as a glowing beacon after-dark; a distinctive presence in the landscape.
Our design utilises components that can be pre-fabricated and easily assembled on site and has been costed to meet a tight budget of £100,000 for three such shelters.
